Philosophy
Here at Building Blocks Play and Learning Center, our program is designed to meet the developmental needs of young children. Our program provides experiences that enrich and enhance each child's cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical and creative development. Within the centers daily schedule, each child has the opportunities to create, explore the environment, learn problem-solving and personal interaction skills, and learn concepts through "hands-on" experience. Children develop positive self-concept through a balance of self and teacher directed activities. Opportunities for solitary play as well as group play provide care that is supportive, nurturing, warm and responsive to each child's individual needs. The staff will help each child learn self-discipline through positive guidance and redirection. We respect parents as the primary and most important provider of care and nurturing, and we believe parents an teachers are partners in children's care and education.
Goals
The mission of Building Blocks Play and Learning Center is to offer safe, quality child care. Our primary purpose is to create a child care environment that is: caring and respectful to all, consistent through the use of primary care givers and simple routines, constructive through a variety of child initiated activities, challenging to all children in all areas of development, and positive and rewarding to all children and families.
